Formerly a fortified castle, now a citadel, then a prison, this Entrevaux monument bears witness to the various phases of the town's fortifications.
The Entrevaux citadel passed through the hands of several engineers to secure this key border location. Richelieu and Vauban were among the men working on its consolidation. After climbing the Vauban ramp, enter the citadel and retrace its construction up to its last use during the First World War.
The tour takes you to the top of the citadel. Bring water, a hat and suitable footwear.
