Over the years, the Trail des Mélèzes du Mercantour has built up a solid reputation among mountain runners. With its eco-responsible positioning, demanding courses and exceptional panoramic views of the upper Verdon valley, the Trail des Mélèzes du Mercantour enjoys an excellent image among trail runners. It is one of the finest trail events in the Southern Alps.
In addition to the purely sporting aspect, it also generates a real mobilization of the population, local communities, tourist authorities and shopkeepers, whose watchword is conviviality.
Since 2016, the 25km and 50km routes have been included in the Challenge des Trails de Provence calendar.
The organization team is made up of a dozen permanent members. It is coordinated by René Rovera, a former professional triathlete and traileur well known on national and international circuits, who fully assumes the role of race director. Over 500 runners start the long-distance course.
