Description
This concert begins in the 18th century with the Oboe Quartet by Jean Christian Bach, son of Johann Sebastian Bach and, notably, Mozart’s composition teacher.
The journey through time continues with the “First Viennese School” and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 3, Op. 18. Despite the opus number assigned to it, this quartet is probably the first one the composer wrote and displays a style still heavily influenced by Haydn and Mozart.
