Description
A talk open to all on the solar eclipse due to take place on 12 August, which will be 95 per cent partial as seen from Lake Sainte-Croix.
On 12 August 2026, there will be a total solar eclipse, which will be just as impressive as the one in 1999, which some of you may still remember. It will be 96 per cent total from the Var region and total in Spain. In France, the darkening of the sky will be very significant, and you will need to wear protective glasses to view the event with the naked eye.
During this talk, we will explain how solar eclipses work: how they occur, what you will be able to see and, above all, how to observe them safely. You will also learn about the best places to view it, whether in France or in Spain if you decide to make the trip.
